MACOMB, IL – Chicago artist Joyce Polance will have her solo exhibition, "Turbulence," on display Jan. 14 - Feb. 14, at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery.

A reception for the artist will be held Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 4:30-6 p.m. The artist will speak about her work at 5 p.m.

The exhibition is made up of Polance's oil paintings.

"My paintings blur the definitions of figures and landscapes. Trees and mountains scream, dissolving into creatures, churning with inner turmoil. Figures branch into abstracted scenery and spaces," Polance said.

The exhibit is open free to the public. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon; 1-4 p.m. and Saturday 1-4 p.m. The gallery is closed on University holidays.
