MACOMB, MOLINE, IL – Campus Recreation at Western Illinois University is hosting a walk/run challenge through Monday, July 6 to virtually connect the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses.

Beginning Monday, May 11, participants have eight weeks to accumulate 80 miles, the distance between the two campuses, of running, jogging and/or walking as part of the Connect the 'Necks Walk/Run Challenge.

To enter, download the Endomondo app and use it every time a walk, jog or run is logged. Participants should be sure to save their workouts in the app by holding the stop button until it saves.

All participants who complete the 80 miles, within the eight-week time frame, will receive a gift from Campus Recreation. Participation is free.

Each week, by Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. CST, those participating should screenshot their weekly running/walking summary in the Endomondo app, post it to their Facebook page and tag WIU Campus Recreation. Those who do not have Facebook, or would rather not post their totals publicly, can email them to Nick Knowles at NS-Knowles@wiu.edu.
