MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University College of Business and Technology (CBT) Adviser Ember Keithley has been named the Outstanding Academic Advisor of the Year by the WIU Council of Academic Advisors.

Keithley has served as an advisor in the CBT since 2000. In this role, she advises all students in the School of Agriculture, as well as online business majors in management, human resources management and supply chain management.

"I have cherished my time at WIU and have learned leaps and bounds greater than I expected. This is all thanks to the expert advising that Ms. Keithley has given me over the past four years," said one nominator.

As the Outstanding Academic Advisor of the Year, Keithley was awarded a $250 cash award from the Office of the Provost, $250 in line expenditures and a plaque from the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Research (CITR).

"Western Illinois University has many great professionals working on behalf of this institution. However, there are certain individuals who take their responsibilities and duties to the next level. I believe Ms. Keithley is one of those individuals," another nominator wrote. "I firmly believe that the School of Agriculture is a signature program because of Ember's care and compassion for her students."
