Orchestra Concert "Souvenirs" Nov. 16

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Symphony Orchestra Concert "Souvenirs" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov.16 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
The WIU Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Assistant Professor of Cello and Director of Orchestral Activities Kenny Lee, with graduate student conductor Xinyeu Liu, will perform works by Dai Wei, Béla Bartók, Franz Liszt and will end the concert with Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
The program will include:
The Dancing Moonlight (2017) - Dai Wei (1989b)
Concerto for Orchestra (1943) - Béla Bartók (1881-1945)
IV. Intermezzo Interrotto
Les Préludes (1854) - Franz Liszt (1811-1886)
INTERMISSION
Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70 for Chamber Orchestra (1890) - Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893)
I. Allegro con spirito
II. Adagio cantabile e con moto
III. Allegretto moderato
IV. Allegro con brio e vivace
