WIU Celebrates Women's History Month

MACOMB, IL - - Throughout March, Western Illinois University will celebrate Women's History Month with a full schedule of events.

This year's theme, "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion," recognizes women throughout the country who work to eliminate bias and discrimination from our lives and institutions.

Campus events planned as part of this year's event include:


  • March 6 at 5 p.m. in the MCC Multipurpose room, in collaboration with Unity: Makeup and Fashion Share and Tell

  • March 21 at 3:15 p.m. in the MCC Multipurpose room, in collaboration with Minorities in Blue: A Serious Talk: Sexual Harassment

  • March 25 at 5 p.m. in the MCC Multipurpose room: Music Trivia (Female Edition)

  • March 26 at 5 p.m. in the Sandburg Theatre, in collaboration with the Veterans Resource Center: Women's History Month movie

  • March 27 at 6 p.m. at the Student Recreation Center, in collaboration with Campus Rec: Ladies Who Lift

  • March 28 at 5 p.m. in the MCC Multipurpose room, in collaboration with Casa Latina: Loteria: Highlighting Empowering Ladies

  • March 29 at 7 p.m. in the MCC Multipurpose room: Mean Girls Pajama Party

  • March 30 at noon in the MCC Multipurpose room: Women's Empowerment: "Let's Go Party" Barbie Brunch
