Scheduled Controlled Burn on WIU Campus March 11

MACOMB, IL - - Landscape Maintenance, part of Western Illinois University Facilities Management, has scheduled a controlled burn in several areas of the Macomb campus, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, weather permitting.

The affected areas will be as follows:


  • The grassy area south east of Thompson Hall

  • The grass bed south of Simpkins Hall

  • The grassy hillside and bus stop area east of Lincoln/Washington

  • If time permits, the grassy area on north side of the Grand Entrance


If weather conditions change and do not safely allow the controlled burn, it will be rescheduled for later in the week and a notification of the schedule change will go out.
