Radoslavov Beethoven Recitals March 18 & 19

MACOMB, IL -- The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a special two-night performance series featuring cellist Kenny Lee and pianist Ilia Radoslavov at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 18 and Tuesday, March 19 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Kenny Lee, assistant professor of Cello and director of Orchestral Activities at WIU, and Ilia Radoslavov, professor of Piano and head of the Keyboard Area at Illinois Wesleyan University, will perform Beethoven's complete Sonatas and Variations for Cello and Piano.

The programs include:

Monday, March 18, 7:30pm - PART I
Sonatas and Variations by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)

12 Variations on "Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen" from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Op. 66

Sonata No. 1 for Piano and Cello in F Major, Op. 5, No. 1
Adagio sostenuto – Allegro-Adagio-Presto
Rondo. Allegro vivace

INTERMISSION

Sonata No. 4 for Piano and Cello in C Major, Op. 102, No. 1
Andante – Allegro vivace
Adagio – Tempo d'Andante – Allegro vivace

Sonata No. 5 for Piano and Cello in D Major, Op. 102, No. 2
Allegro con brio
Adagio con molto sentimento d'affetto
Allegro – Allegro fugato

Tuesday, March 19, 7:30pm – PART II
