Piano Festival 2024 April 11

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present the WIU Piano Festival 2024 Guest Recital, featuring pianist Ksenia Nosikova, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

WIU piano students will also have the opportunity to play for the University of Iowa professor of Piano and co-head of the Piano Area Ksenia Nosikova during a Masterclass at noon Thursday, April 11.

The 2024 WIU Piano Festival is made possible by the generous support of Professor Emerita Hyung Ja Kim.

The program will include:

Capriccio in A Major, Op. 34, No. 1 - Muzio Clementi (1752-1832)

Sonata No. 28 in A Major, Op.101- Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)
I. Allegretto ma non troppo
II. Vivace alla marcia
III. Adagio ma non troppo con affetto – Presto

Aufenthalt, S. 560 (after Schubert's Schwanengesang, D. 957) - Franz Liszt (1811-1886)
Polonaise No. 2 In E Major, S. 223/2

INTERMISSION

Daisies, Op. 38, No. 3 - Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943)
Lilacs, Op. 21, No. 5

Suite from the Partita in E Major for Violin - Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)
