WIU-QC Announces '24 Core Value Recipients

MOLINE, IL– Western Illinois University-Quad Cities is proud to announce the recipients of its prestigious Core Values Awards for the 2024 academic year.

WIU is committed to empowering students, faculty and staff to lead dynamic and diverse communities, providing student-centered undergraduate and graduate programs characterized by innovative teaching, research and service, grounded in interdisciplinary, regional and global perspectives. By engaging our students in educational opportunities guided by a professional and diverse faculty and staff in collaboration with alumni and community partners, WIU is often in the presence of many incredible individuals.

Thomas Oliver Rosner, the instructional spaces manager, has been chosen as the recipient of the WIU-Quad Cities Core Values Award for Personal Growth. This award at WIU is defined as recognizing an individual who embodies the development of the whole person. WIU is dedicated to providing opportunities for personal growth in an environment that fosters wellness, ethical decision-making and personal responsibility.

Terry Wilson, the director of development for WQPT, has been chosen as the recipient of the WIU-Quad Cities Core Values Award for Social Responsibility. At WIU, this award is defined as honoring an individual who demonstrates a commitment to equity, social justice and diversity, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity in their work with others. WIU aims to serve as a resource and catalyst for economic, educational, cultural, environmental and community development within our region and beyond.

The 2023-2024 Core Values selection committee includes Bret Bogenschneider, Quad Cities Faculty Council; Cameron Ruiz, Council of Administrative Personnel; and Thomas Oliver Rosner, Civil Service Employees Council. The committee is convened when nominations are received by the Quad Cities Operations and Administration.

Their hard work and dedication inspire us all and we are proud to honor Terry and Thomas for their significant contributions to the WIU-QC community," WIU-Quad Cities Executive Director of Outreach and QC Campus Operations Audrey Adamson said.
