JSO Concert Sept. 17

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Jazz Studio Orchestra (JSO) Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The Jazz Studio Orchestra is under the direction of Whitney Ashe, Assistant Professor of Piano and Director of Jazz Studies.

This performance is open free to the public.

The program will include:

Whirlybird - Neil Hefti

It's oh so Nice - Sammy Nestico

Across the Tracks Blues - Duke Ellington

Jack the Bear - Duke Ellington

A Child is Born - Thad Jones

Moanin' - Bobby Timmons/arr. Quincy Jones

Queen Bee - Sammy Nestico

Perdido - Juan Tizol/arr. Steve McNabney

The Star-Crossed Lovers - Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn

Hang in There - Sammy Nestico
