Orchestra and JSO Nutcracker Suite Dec. 11

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a special combined Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Studio Orchestra Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.
The Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Rich Cangro, and Jazz Studio Orchestra (JSO), under the direction of Whitney Ashe, will perform Tchaikovsky's famous Nutcracker Suite along with Duke Ellington's and Billy Strayhorn's adaptation of the suite.
The program will include:
The Nutcracker Suite (1891/1960)
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893)
and Duke Ellington (1899–1974) & Billy Strayhorn (1915-1967)

March - Peanut Brittle brigade
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies - Sugar Rum Cherry
Trepak - Volga Vouty
Coffee Dance - Arabesque Cookie
Tea Dance - Chinoiserie
Dance of Reed Flutes - Toot Toot Tootie Toot
Waltz of the Flowers - Dance of the Floreadores
This performance is open free to the public and will be live-streamed on the School of Music's YouTube channel.
