MACOMB, IL - - Art students in the graphic design program and those working with expanding foam sculptures at Western Illinois University currently have their works on exhibit through Thursday, April 12 at the WIU Art Gallery.

The Graphic Design Student Exhibition includes posters; billboards; web designs; animation; promotional, beverage and package design; book and CD cover design; and more. Students used Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver to produce the images.

The other exhibition features work created with expanding polyurethane foam by students and faculty in the Western's art department. The foam, originally developed by the commercial building industry, is generally used to seal household drafts by expanding to fill cracks and gaps where standard insulation is ineffective. The artists in this exhibit have experimented with various sculptural techniques, such as carving, casting and assemblage.

Convenience Products of Fenton, MO, donated the polyurethane foam and $500 in contest prize money for student awards, which were presented in Spring 2006.
