Timely Warning: Assault [10/27/11]

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Director of Public Safety Bob Fitzgerald has issued a notice regarding an alleged physical assault near Henninger Hall.

At approximately 9:45 a.m. today (Oct. 27), OPS officers responded to a blue light call-box alarm near Henninger Hall on University Drive. A student reported that while she was walking in the 600 block of University Drive, she was approached from behind and grabbed by an unknown male, who fled the scene after the alleged assault. The student was not injured. An investigation is continuing.

The Office of Public Safety reminds students to report suspicious activity immediately and to remain alert to their surroundings. Individuals with information about this incident should call Public Safety at 298-1949, Macomb police at 833-4505, or Crime Stoppers at 836-3222.
