MACOMB, IL – Jayson Nelson, an employee for Sodexo on the campus of Western Illinois University, recently received Sodexo's Presidential Citation, the highest award bestowed by the corporation, given in recognition for saving a life.

Nelson, a catering supervisor in the University Union, performed the Heimlich maneuver on a co-worker who was choking.

"It is a pleasure to recognize Jayson for his quick response," said Jim Jenkins, division vice president for campus services. "In my long tenure at Sodexo this is the first time I have had the honor of presenting this award, and it is with the greatest of pleasure that I present it to Jayson for his heroic and quick actions. I am proud of what all Sodexo employees do everyday while they are performing their job responsibilities."
