Coplan Named Employee of the Month

MACOMB, IL -- The Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) at Western Illinois University is pleased to announce that Terri Coplan, staff secretary in the department of communication, was selected as the May Civil Service Employee of the Month.

According to Coplan's nominators, "Terris is an optimistic person who is genuinely concerned and interested in her co-workers. This sincerity fosters a positive working environment that would not be possible without her."

"Terri is always willing to help anyone who needs assistance; and with her tireless dedication and her terrific attitude, she serves as an inspiration to those who work with her," her nominators said.

Another nominator added that "Terri takes great pride in working for the communication department. A sense of enthusiasm shines through in all efforts put forth by this nominee."

Coplan began working at WIU in 1979 as a secretary III in the health sciences department and was promoted several times. She began working as a staff secretary for the communication department in 2001.

"Terri received this award because she exemplifies the ideal staff professional," said Katharine D. Barrett, CSEC public relations officer. "We applaud Terri for her contributions to her department and the entire WIU community."
