Leatherneck Football

Date: Saturday, October 28

Time: 3 pm

Location: Hanson Field

Description: Joining in the celebration of Dad's day, WIU Athletics will play host to Southern Illinois University on Saturday, October 28th. 

Tailgating starts five hours prior to kick-off at in Q-Lot adjacent to the field. The Leathernecks welcome Dad's and students to enjoy the weekend with Football and fun.  Hope to see you there and Go Leathernecks!

Western Illinois University Bookstore

Date:  Saturday, October 28

Time:  10am-4pm

Location:   University Union, Ground Floor

Description:  Stop by the WIU Bookstore in the University Union to check out all the latest WIU merchandise.  Specifically for Dads' Day, gifts and apparel will be 20% off plus a special deal of the week!

Description:  Spend time golfing on the beautiful Harry Mussatto Golf Course for a discounted rate in honor of Dads' Day!  A round of golf for the excellent rate of $25 for family members.  Active students pay a Dads' Day special rate of $10 per 9 holes to ride. 

Alpha Gamma Rho Smokin' Hog

WIU School of Agriculture Golf Outing

Time:  Check-in: 9:30am  Shotgun Start:  10am

Location:  Harry Mussatto Golf Course

Description:  Support the School of Agriculture and particiate as a Indiviual, Twosome, or Foursome in their Golf Outing at the WIU Harry Mussatto Golf Course.  Test your skills in competitions such as the longest drive, closest to the pin on Par 3, or the Shotgun Scramble.  For more information and to register click HERE.

Haunted Trail

Bureau of Cultural Affairs:  The Queen's Cartoonist

Date:   Sunday, October 29

Location:   UniversityUnion Grand Ballroom

Description: Pulling from over 100 years of animation from around the world, The Queen's Cartoonist performances are perfectly synchronized to the films projected on stage. The band matches the energy of the cartoons, leading the audience through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem, and comedy. The Western Connection Shop

Description:   Make some time to visit The Western Connection shop in the Macomb Train Station!  The Western Connection shop specializes alumni, student and departmental made items. As well as a bit of WIU apparel and gifts. Many of which are perfect for Dads. Stop by the station and enter through the west side entrance.

Hike at Spring Lake

Date: All Weekend 

Time: Hiking trail maps available at the trail head from 8am - Dark

Location: Spring Lake Park (620 Spring Lake Park Road, Macomb)

Description: Get back to nature with your WIU Student at Spring Lake Park! Saturday, April 15:   Put your trivia skills to the test with your student and participate in Forgottonia's monthly Saturday trivia at 7pm where all questions will be about Halloween!

The Crafty Coop

Date:   Dads' Paint Free on Friday, October 27 from 4:30pm-7:30pm and October 28 from 10am-6pm

           Baby Goats Halloween Party on Sunday, October 29 from 12pm-5pm

Macomb School of Magic

Prairie Pumpkin Hunt

Date:  All weekend!

Location:   Lakeview Nature Area and Center

Description: The pumpkins are hidden throughout the Lakeview Nature Center’s prairie. Take a self-guided tour to find them all! This is a free activity and open to the public.

Sculpture Park

Location: Nestled at the edge of Downtown Macomb, Next to Citizens bank and the Macomb Post Office

Description: Each sculpture in this park reflects aspects of our local parks, as well as the history and culture of Macomb. Please feel free to try and pull the sword from our local stone, or see if you can find your face in the stack of local vases. Perhaps the spinning Zoetrope is more your kind of illusion, or the quirky movements of our local birds. However you choose to interact, we are glad you are here!

Everwood Disc Golf course

Location: Glenwood Park

Description: This 18 hole course offers beautiful scenery throughout a variety of holes that start tight with a moderate covering of mature trees and change in relief and obstacles, finishing with long challenging open holes. The front nine, located in Glenwood Park, offers shorter holes with a mix of birdie chances with tight approaches. These holes are tree-laden rewarding accurate drives and punish wayward tee shots and approaches. Go have some fun!

Veterans Park QR Fit Trail

Location: Veterans Park

Description: This park offers over 1.7 miles of walking trails which includes QR fitness codes along the route with varying exercises. You will also find Outdoor fitness Equipment near the playground. We hope you enjoy a beautiful day of walking, running, or jogging!
