Klaudia Jarosz, Graduate Assistant

kjaroszKlaudia Jarosz is an international student from Poland and a Graduate Student with a Major in Cello Performance at Western Illinois University. She received her Bachelor in Music Arts, with a specialization in Cello Pedagogy, from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, Poland.

Jarosz began the cello at age of six and studied with students of Rostropovich and other prominent European cello teachers. She took part of numerous competitions and music masterclasses as a soloist and as a member of chamber groups around Europe. In her high school years, she played with various Symphonic Orchestras in Poland and recorded a couple of albums.

Currently she is the principal cellist at the WIU Symphony Orchestra and a cellist at the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association. Besides music, Klaudia’s other passion is graphic design and an unconditional love of cats.
