Kristin Grode is in her first year as a Graduate Assistant with the WIU Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and is pursuing a Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology.  She graduated in 2014 from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences & Disorders as an Honor’s Program Scholar.  She additionally, obtained a minor in Children’s Studies.  While at ISU she was involved in the honors program, was a Community Assistant for University Housing Services, served as a Teacher’s Assistant for CSD 175: Language Development, maintained an active role in scholarly organizations and was involved with Encounter Campus ministry. 

Kristin joined the Department of C&I in August of 2015 and works with several professors.  She is currently taking an active role in the development of an ACT hybrid course, while additionally working with Dr. Stinnett, Prof. LaPrad and Dr. Simonson.  

 Kristin is from Lake in the Hills, IL where she graduated from Huntley High School in 2011. She is looking forward to getting married to her fiance, Josh Weingart, in the summer!  After WIU, she plans to work as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the hospital setting, gaining experience to eventually launch a private-practice.  She aspires to ensure that everyone has a voice and knows how much they matter.
