Step 1 - Application for admission to the Western Illinois University School of Graduate Studies

The first step for admission to a program within the Department of Educational Studies is to apply to the School of Graduate Studies.

Step 2 - Application for admission to the Department of Educational Studies

The second step is to have an interview with an ES Graduate Committee member, then submit a completed a personal information form and a reason statement to the Department of Educational Studies.

2)   The reason statement, which you will attach at the end of the personal information form, should address the following points:

a.  Your purpose in pursing graduate study in our program;

b.  Your academic background, extracurricular activities, or work experience that you bring with you to the program;

c.  Topics or problems relevant to your current field of work or study that you would like to explore during graduate study;

d.  Any problems or inconsistencies in your grades or records, if needed, such as not meeting the minimum GPA requirement.

3)    Email one of the following ES Graduate Committee members to arrange an interview:
