  Curriculum Vitae »

I earned my Ph.D. degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I have done additional graduate work at the University of South Florida in Tampa, the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, the University of California in Fullerton, and Furman University.

I worked as an associate superintendent for curriculum, instruction and student support services in school districts in North Carolina and was the assistant superintendent in the Omaha Public Schools. I served schools as an elementary and middle school principal, director of guidance services, coordinator of gifted education, teacher, school psychologist, and guidance coordinator. I taught graduate classes at the University of New Hampshire, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Furman University, and Creighton University.

I have extensive experience as a turnaround leader at the school and district levels. I worked with schools and districts across the country with school and district level improvement challenges. I am an active national presenter for the American Association of School Administrators and the Illinois School Board Association and the National School Board Association.  Most recently, I had presented at the National School Educators Association on the turnaround leader and on the administrator’s role in identifying underachieving gifted. I was also a general session speaker at the National American Association of School Administrators conference in November 2006.
