National Day of Racial Healing

Aligned with the national observance, this day aims to foster a collective commitment to racial equity, justice and understanding. Members of the WIU Community are invited to visit an information table outside of the EICC office to learn what a single person can do to increase a sense of welcome and support and expand a sense of community and belonging both on campus and beyond.


Brittany Piper: The Heart of Resilience and Recovery

Brittany will inform, inspire, and walk the audience through the scientifically proven methods and practices designed to heal the effects that trauma leaves on the brain and body. From military bases to conflict countries, to workplaces and college campuses—Brittany’s educational and hands-on program has transformed and empowered the lives of countless audiences. And now, she’s ready to share her heart and knowledge with WIU.


Kinder Mondays: Grace

How do we show compassion, forgiveness and understanding in challenging times? Grace is one approach and it is the theme of the first Kinder Mondays program of the 2026 spring semester at WIU. All are invited to pick up some pointers on how to add grace and kindness to our world, community, campus and ourselves. Kinder Mondays is a campus-wide program organized by the University Counseling Center to help foster personal growth and a sense of community at WIU.


HER Mini-Retreat Workshop

A mini-retreat workshop designed to support allies and any survivor of domestic violence or sexual assault in becoming HER: healed, empowered and restored. The workshop will be facilitated by Stevie Thieme. The workshop provides an opportunity for participants to learn, grow and strengthen their ability to support survivors.

A lecture by Stevie Thieme, founder of WE ARE HER. Thieme will speak about the organization's mission, which centers on supporting allies and any survivor of domestic violence or sexual assault in becoming HER: healed, empowered and restored. The event is open to all members of the WIU community. The subject matter impacts individuals from diverse backgrounds and offers attendees an opportunity to learn, grow and find inspiration.
