Comedian Jake Johannsen to Perform at WIU's Dads' Weekend

MACOMB, IL – Comedian Jake Johannsen will take the stage at Western Illinois University at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17 as part of the Dads' Weekend schedule.

Johannsen's performance, brought in by BCA, will be in the University Union Grand Ballroom. He travels the country as a stand-up comedian and previously starred in his own HBO comedy special, "This'll Take About An Hour."

In 2010, Johannsen starred in his own comedy special on Showtime, called, "I Love You," and in 1994, he was nominated as "Best Male Stand-Up Comedian." Johannsen has also made more than 40 appearances on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

Before Johannsen's show, a dinner reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the University Union Grand Ballroom. A buffet dinner, including chicken marsala, beef stroganoff, garlic mashed new potatoes and dessert will be served.

Tickets for the dinner and the show are $36.50 for dads. The student price for dinner is $21.50, and admission to Johannsen's show is free with valid student identification. Pickup of a student admission ticket is suggested to guarantee a seat for the show.

Tickets for Johannsen's show are $15 for the public and $10 for senior citizens, WIU employees and youth. Admission tickets are available at the Hainline Theatre Box Office.
