Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx to Headline Family Day

MACOMB, IL – Dennis DeYoung, a founding member of the rock band Styx, has been signed as the headlining entertainment for the Family Day 2015 tailgating celebration.

Dennis DeYoung and the Music of Styx will perform in Q-Lot in the tailgating area at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. The concert is open free to the public.

DeYoung wrote eight of Styx's nine top 10 singles. Styx, the only band ever to record four consecutive triple platinum albums, has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide.

Over the past four decades, DeYoung has been a singer, songwriter, keyboardist and record producer. He wrote and sang several of Styx's classics, including "Lady," "Come Sail Away," "Mr. Roboto" and "Don't Let it End" and has recorded seven solo albums.

DeYoung's appearance is sponsored by the University Union Board (UUB), which began offering free headlining concerts as part of Family Day three years ago.
