MACOMB, IL – Anyone interested in learning about international opportunities and increasing their involvement in the global community can attend a presentation from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 in the Garden Lounge of Western Illinois University's Malpass Library.

Attendees will learn about the Peace Corps, presented by Jake Hamilton (Pekin, IL), who is working toward a master of science recreation at WIU, as well as Fulbright—the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government—presented by Katy Valentin (Canton, IL), who is working toward a master of science in education and interdisciplinary studies at WIU.

Following the Peace Corps and Fulbright presentations, Hannah Murphy, who teaches abroad in the English Language Fellow Program funded by the U.S. Department of State, will present on her experience of teaching English in Ethiopia.

"It is an honor to be part of the University and wider community, and to not only be a teacher of a global language that can provide people with new opportunities for economic mobility, but also to learn from my colleagues and students, growing both professionally and personally throughout the process," said Murphy.
