WIU School of Ag Spring '16 Open House: Record Number of Attendees

MACOMB, IL — Faculty and staff in the WIU School of Agriculture (as well as staff from numerous other offices/programs at ‪WIU‬) hosted a record number of School of Ag Open House attendees today on campus, according to student recruiter Christian Thurwanger (Sycamore, IL).

Students from various parts of Illinois and beyond started their day at the WIU Livestock Center and were treated to tours of campus and the University Farm, a complimentary lunch, and specific information about opportunities and courses available in School of Agriculture, one of WIU's Signature Programs.

Emmi Fisher (middle) and her grandmother, Monica Jackson, both from Springfield, IL, at the WIU School of Agriculture Spring '16 Open House this morning. Emmi is a student at Lincolnland Community College and said she is interested in ag at Western because of it's a "great program." She also said she has an interest in taking advantage of WIU's study abroad courses/programs for ag.

Greg and Colton Allen (Pittsfield, IL) at the WIU School of Agriculture Spring '16 Open House this morning. Colton is a student at John Wood Community College and is interested in possibly transferring to WIU.

Brooke Ryner (Alexis, IL) and her parents Jeff and Christi Ryner, at the WIU School of Agriculture Spring '16 Open House this morning. Brooke is a junior at United High School and is interested in animal science and agriculture business.

WIU School of Agriculture Director Andy "Doc" Baker talks about the opportunities the School of Ag offers students who enroll at Western.
