MACOMB, IL – The Mirror and the Lamp at Western Illinois University is looking for student, faculty, staff, and alumni writers to get involved with its magazine.

The Mirror and the Lamp is a magazine blog that creates, edits, and publishes stories about students, faculty, staff, alumni, news, and events within the English Department and is printed annually each spring. The goal of the magazine is to document the lives and experiences of those immersed in the WIU Department of English.

The magazine is looking for students to write features about life in their English classes or English related experiences around campus. Students can write non-fiction essays about what they are reading, writing, viewing, listening to and doing that relate to their English experiences. Students can interview or create profiles for English faculty, staff, or students. Students are encouraged to be creative with their writing! Submissions and any different kind of essay, feature, or series for Mirror and the Lamp you want to pitch can be sent to the Managing Editor Bryce Swain at EB-Swain@wiu.edu and Executive Editor, Rebecca Gonner at RL-Gonner@wiu.edu.
