Student Success & Social Justice Summit June 16

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University College of Education and Human Services, in conjunction with the QC GradCenter and the WIU School of Graduate Studies, will host a virtual Student Success and Social Justice Summit from 1-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 16.

In this free online event, participants will explore equity and inclusion practices, research and pedagogy of student success, with three keynote speakers and several speakers in two sessions.

For the keynote presentations, LT Robinson will deliver "The Struggle is Real: Centering Equity and Anti-Racism Work in Higher Education Partnerships"; Zak Foste will present "Beyond the Good Intentions of Diversity Work: The Material Consequences of Whiteness in the Lives of Students of Color"; and Jordan "JT" Turner will present "The Elephant in the Room: The Uncomfortable Legacy of Student Activism and How We Can Do Better Moving Forward."
