WIU in Collaboration with WQPT & StartNet to Host Ready to Learn Conference

MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University, in conjunction with WQPT PBS and Illinois StarNet Regions I and III will host a Ready to Learn Conference from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, April 29 on the Quad Cities campus. Additional support is provided by The Grad Center.

"We are so excited to bring early care and education professionals, education students, and families from all over the Quad Cities to share and connect about inclusive and developmentally appropriate early childhood learning experiences," said the Director of Center for Best Practices in Early Childhood Lindsay Meeker. "We have fantastic keynotes and breakouts, as well as super cool give-aways."

This conference will provide educators, caregivers and others with knowledge and resources to foster enhanced outcomes for children of all ages. Participants will participate in breakout sessions on a variety of topics related to early childhood education, including equity and access.

The conference features keynote presentations by Ruth Spiro, author of the bestselling book, "Baby Loves Science," and Antoninette Taylor, Ph.D on Pre/K-12 Curriculum and Instruction.

Professional development credits are available for applicable sessions from ISBE, Gateways and Early Intervention. Educational vendors and community organizations will be available to explore and breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants.
