MOLINE, IL – "Talk Tuesday," a podcast highlighting the Quad Cities community and the lives of Western Illinois University-Quad Cities students, launched in September.

WIU English major Abigail Jones and Accounting major Dominic Sanchez collaborated over the summer break to create a podcast for WIU-QC students. Their objective is to showcase the community surrounding the Quad Cities campus and encourage students to participate in various activities.

"Freshmen and transfers can learn more about the campus during a tour and learn about events through something like the Rocky Review," Sanchez said. "My goal for this podcast is to show something outside of school, like Milltown Coffee, or events not on campus but in the community."

In the first episode of "Talk Tuesday," hosts will dive into the Bluegrass Drive-in theater and all that it has to offer. It is a family-oriented establishment added in 2014 and has since grown into a fun big event for all in the community.

"Creating these videos has allowed me to explore our community more and take my eyes out of my textbook for an hour or two to see the beautiful world around us," Jones said. "It can be hard to balance school work and social activities, especially when your campus is not a short jog away. It is worth the drive, however, to be connected with our campus and fellow classmates."
