Reed Named October Employee of the Month

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities Jared Reed has been named the Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) Employee of the Month for October.
"Western Illinois University is lucky to have the nominee on the team as they are someone who cares deeply about the student experience, the University's future, and how he can positively impact what is happening on campus. Jared has continually uplifted Western Illinois University and our students while going above and beyond the traditional focus of his role," one of his nominators said.
Reed's nominators detailed his focus on developing the Student Rights and Responsibilities Office, embracing change and assisting with University-wide efforts.
"COAP is proud to recognize the efforts and dedication of members going above and beyond to support students and WIU. We have an amazing group of staff who care deeply, and Jared is one great example," said another nominator.
"I was very surprised to receive the COAP Employee of the Month award because I work with really good people around me every day. So, for me to be recognized, I was shocked," Reed said. "It feels really good to be recognized and honored for the work that I do."
The COAP Employee of the Month award aims to acknowledge exceptional performance by WIU employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, based on specific criteria. Nominations can come from supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff or members of the community. The monthly winners receive a gift, a reserved parking space for one month, a professional headshot and recognition from the University.
