Office of Public Safety to host Active Threat Seminar for WIU Students

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety (OPS), in collaboration with OPS Director Derek Watts, WIU Sergeant Rob Looney and COMM 430 (Training and Development) students, will offer an Active Threat Seminar from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7 in the University Union Capitol Room.

The "Run, Hide, Fight - Active Threat Seminar'' will cover information on preparing and responding to an active threat. The event is open to all WIU students.

The annual seminar was previously held for all WIU employees. This will be the first of its kind tailored to WIU students.

To register for the seminar, visit bit.ly/46DesmK and fill out the form. Note that OPS will utilize a live handgun that shoots blank rounds as part of the seminar.
