WIU CAS Hosts Reception to Honor Many Achievements

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University College of Arts and Sciences recently held a reception to honor the outstanding students and retiring faculty members of CAS.

"The reception was important because it was an opportunity for CAS to come together and honor the achievements of the students and faculty and celebrate the end of another successful semester," senior History major and member of many student organizations Jordan Rouse said.

The event was well attended by the majority of CAS chairs and numerous professors from various departments. Notably present included interim provost Mark Mossman, senior associate provost for budget, personnel, and research Russell Morgan, emeritus CAS dean Susan Martinelli, interim dean James Schmidt and interim associate dean Keith Boeckelman.

Olivia Brinker, a senior Forensic Chemistry and Mathematics major was recognized as the CAS College Scholar and Rouse as the CAS Lincoln Laureate Nominee and unofficially, as the Lincoln Laureate for WIU.
