MACOMB, IL - - It's that time of the year: time to start planning for summer. Western Illinois University's Department of Recreation, Park, Tourism and Hospitality (RPTH) will host the annual WIU Summer Opportunities (job) Fair from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 in the University Union Grand Ballroom.

This event has grown over time and includes a wide range of 40 different businesses and organizations that are recruiting for summer seasonal positions, such as lifeguards, food service/catering, athletic instructors, inclusion aids, customer service, media relations, camp counselors (day or overnight), maintenance, natural resource grounds crews and entertainment and hospitality positions from as close as Chicago to as far away as New Mexico.

The fair is open to students of all career interests and majors.

"Attending the fair provides students of various majors with employment possibilities and networking opportunities with a range of businesses. Most employers also provide different contract lengths and flexible scheduling," WIU Associate Professor of RPTH Megan Owens said.
