SOCA to Host Taste of the Caribbean and Africa April 11

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University Student Organization of Caribbean Ancestry (SOCA) will host a Taste of the Caribbean and Africa event from 4:30-7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Multicultural Center (MCC).

Embark on a Culinary Journey at WIU Campus! Experience the fusion of flavors and rhythms as SOCA invites you to a sensational celebration of Caribbean and African cultures. Students are in for an unforgettable food fair extravaganza, where tantalizing aromas and vibrant colors will transport them to the heart of the Caribbean islands and African nations.

From savory specialties like Jamaican jerk chicken to exotic delights like Nigerian jollof rice, each bite promises a delightful adventure. Upon arrival, students will receive chits to embark on their culinary journey. Exchange these tickets at our diverse food stations to savor the best of Caribbean and African cuisine. Discover the secrets behind each dish as you learn about its origins, preparation methods and authentic ingredients.
