MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - Both the Western Illinois University Macomb and Quad Cities campuses will be closed beginning at 11 p.m. this evening (Jan. 20) through 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 due to negative temperatures and dangerous windchill.
University residence halls will remain open. Dining centers will be open for brunch from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Go West buses will operate on a break route schedule. Check WIU Facebook and Instagram (@westerniluniv) for the most up-to-date information.
When the University is closed, employees will be dismissed from and paid for their regular working shift. Employees working in essential positions may be required to work their regular hours during a total shutdown. The determination of essential versus nonessential employees will be made by the supervisor based on the nature of the advisory situation.
