MACOMB, IL - - For Kevin A. Nichols, Western Illinois University represents an open landscape to be creative, a place where ideas and passions take shape.
A proud member of the WIU School of Music community, Nichols recalls one of his favorite Leatherneck memories: bass drum head sledding with the Marching Leatherneck Drumline. More than just a fun moment, this experience symbolizes the camaraderie and shared experiences that define WIU.
To Nichols, being a Leatherneck means being part of something bigger than oneself and making meaningful contributions. His advice to prospective students?
"Join us and give it a chance," Nichols said.
As we celebrate 125 years of educational excellence, we invite WIU students, alumni, and community members to share their stories. Contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
