Ruiz Named Named COAP Employee of the Month

MACOMB/MOLINE IL - - Western Illinois University associate director of Admissions and Recruitment Cameron Ruiz has been named the Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) Employee of the Month for August.

Ruiz showed his dedication to WIU by committing time to each and every one of the students he recruits and continuing to support them when they arrive on campus.

"Regardless of how busy his schedule is, Cameron takes the time to create meaningful relationships with each of the students he recruits," Ruiz's nominator said. "Any student I have met who was recruited by Cameron, has raved about how supported and welcomed they felt to attend WIU simply because of the time Cameron took to support them."

The COAP Employee of the Month award aims to acknowledge exceptional performance by WIU employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, based on specific criteria. Nominations can come from supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff or members of the community. The monthly winners receive a reserved parking space for one month and recognition from the University.
