December 4, 2025
MACOMB, IL - - Just Hired! Through the experiences of local, regional, national and international students, Western Illinois University has some incredible alumni who are changing the world in the workforce. This series will feature students from all over the world who are hired post-graduation.
MACOMB, IL - - Meet Lynette Foree, a graduate of Western Illinois Physical Education Teacher Education, who was hired at Morrison Community School District at Northside Elementary School in Morrison.
Foree went through an online application process that she found in the job bank. The Northside Elementary school called her in and asked for an interview and she took the earliest available date and time.
Her interview process was a meeting with both the principal and teachers as they took notes. Foree waited and eventually got the phone call offering her the position.
Foree discussed how her time in WIU's Physical Education program helped benefit her in the classroom.
"I learned a lot during the hands-on classroom portion," Foree said. "Working with teachers in the field definitely helped me a lot."
She also viewed the adapted program as a valuable way to build her teamwork skills and get to know the kids better throughout the semester.
