WIU Museum Studies Hosts Community Printmaking Workshop at German American Heritage Museum
December 15, 2025
MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University Museum Studies faculty and graduate students facilitated a hands-on printmaking holiday card workshop for the public on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the German American Heritage Museum.
The workshop provided community members with the opportunity to engage directly with printmaking techniques while learning about cultural and artistic traditions. Led by WIU faculty, Museum Studies graduate students played a central role in planning and delivering the program, gaining practical experience in museum education and public engagement.
The event reflects WIU's commitment to experiential learning, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world museum settings. Through activities such as program development, visitor interaction and educational facilitation, students are building professional skills essential to careers in museums and cultural institutions.
The WIU Museum Studies program regularly partners with regional museums and cultural organizations to provide students with meaningful learning experiences while offering engaging programming to the community.
