Welcome Week Spring 2026 Announced

MOLINE, IL – Western Illinois University-Quad Cities will host Welcome Week 2026, Tuesday, Jan. 20–Friday, Jan. 23. All events are open to WIU students, staff and faculty members.

"We are thrilled to welcome students back to campus for the start of a new semester! Welcome Week is a great opportunity to meet fellow students, staff and faculty, get involved in fun activities and kick off the semester," Steven Sierra, Associate Director of Student Success at WIU-QC said.

Stop by Riverfront Hall throughout the week for free treats, fun activities and chances to win prizes. Warm up with hot cocoa and donuts, grab walking waffles on the go, enjoy coffee, cookies and crafts, and test your skills in our "Less Than a Minute & Win It!" challenges. Swing through between classes, bring a friend and start the semester feeling welcome.

The Welcome Week schedule includes:
9 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 20 – Hot Cocoa & Donuts, Riverfront Hall entrance
11 a.m. & 4 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21 – Walking Waffles, Riverfront Hall Atrium
12–5 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 22 – "Less Than a Minute & Win It Games!" Riverfront Hall Atrium
11 a.m.–4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23 – Coffee, Cookies & Crafts, Riverfront Hall entrance
