Spring Semester Kicks Off with Exciting First Four Weeks

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University is pleased to welcome students back to campus to kick off the Spring 2026 semester with an exciting "First Four Weeks."

The Office of Student Engagement will host events throughout campus to get students off to a fast start, both academically and socially, in 2026. Events will be held nearly daily, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20 through Friday, Feb. 13.

The first week will be highlighted by a new student welcome social from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, in the University Union Lincoln Room, a student organization fair held 3-5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the University Union Grand Ballroom and the Rec and Roll After Dark from 8-10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22.

Future weeks will feature Student Night at the Women's and Men's Basketball game against Southeast Missouri at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 in Western Hall, a transfer student mixer from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4 in the University Union Brattain Lounge and Rocky's Birthday Bash from 12-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 in the Multicultural Center.
