Tri-States Horn Day Cobalt Quartet Feb. 1

MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University School of Music presents the 2026 Tri-States Horn Day on Sunday, Feb. 1 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

Tri-States Horn Day is a regional celebration of horn playing that brings together students, educators and community musicians from across the Midwest for an afternoon of music-making, learning and connection.
Designed to be welcoming and accessible to horn players of all ages and experience levels, this event emphasizes community, shared artistry and inspiration. Participants will take part in a group warm-up, perform in the Western Community Horn Choir, hear a guest artist recital and observe an engaging masterclass led by professional performers.

Whether you are a middle or high school student, a college musician, a private teacher, or a lifelong horn player, Tri-States Horn Day offers a supportive environment to learn, listen and connect with fellow horn players.

Event Schedule
1 p.m. – Group Warm-Up
2 p.m. – Western Community Horn Choir; Conducted by Dr. Randy Faust
3 p.m. – Guest Artist Recital: Cobalt Horn Quartet
3 p.m. – Masterclass with members of the Cobalt Horn Quartet
5 p.m. – Event concludes
All events will be held in the COFAC Recital Hall.

Registration is free at 3 p.m. Guest Recital is open free to the public.
