NSBE Collaboates with Cybersecurity Center

MACOMB, IL - - The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), a Western Illinois University chapter organized seven workshops in collaboration with the WIU Cybersecurity Center.
The training sessions were held from October to December and were attended by a total of 137 students worldwide, including 37 WIU students. To formally conclude the program, NSBE-WIU hosted a Technical Training Grand Ceremony on Dec. 23.
The workshops covered cybersecurity, project management, business and data analytics, cloud engineering, front-end development, back-end development and mobile app development. These workshops provided students from around the world with opportunities to learn from experienced facilitators.
The 2025 theme, "Boost Your Skills (Skill Up)," focused on professional development through participation in seven workshop sessions. The program was offered over a 10-week period, meeting every Saturday via Zoom for 30 minutes to one hour. Each session was led by passionate facilitators and provided students with opportunities to enhance skills aligned with their chosen career paths.
The training program was organized by the NSBE-WIU leadership team under the direction of the Chapter President, Abiodun D. Aderanjo, in coordination with the organization's advisor, Tahir M. Khan, associate professor of Computer Science and interim director of the WIU Cybersecurity Center.
