MOLINE, IL — The Parent Mentor Program at Western Illinois University–Quad Cities will host its annual Parent Mentor Program Spirit Week celebration, culminating in a special event from 8:30–10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, in Room 111 on the Moline Campus.

Co-organized by Sarah Benson and Gabriela Mendez, the event honors the dedication and advocacy of Parent Mentors who play a vital role in strengthening connections between schools and families throughout three Quad Cities school districts. Their ongoing efforts positively impact students, families, educators and school staff, reinforcing the importance of collaborative partnerships in education.

Parent Mentor Spirit Week serves as an opportunity to formally recognize the meaningful contributions of Parent Mentors and to celebrate the lasting difference they make in the community. The program's success is made possible in part through the continued support of WIU, whose leadership and partnership help advance outreach and engagement efforts across the region.

University leadership is invited to attend the Feb. 27 celebration to demonstrate institutional appreciation and support. Leadership presence at the event will underscore the University's commitment to community engagement and collaboration.

Organizers also welcome opportunities to partner with the University to further raise awareness of the Parent Mentor Program and highlight its impact within the broader WIU community.
