March 5, 2026
MACOMB, IL - - A campus tradition returns to Western Illinois University this weekend! WIU will host their 13th annual Main Event RockyTHON (dance marathon) for the kids from noon-9 p.m. Saturday, March 7 in the University Union Grand Ballroom.
The event is a 9 hour dance marathon with activities, fundraising, miracle families in attendance and dancing with the morale team. The whole event is For The Kids and is hosted as a big party to celebrate the work RockyTHON has done through the year.'
RockyTHON will incorporate many eager alumni and undergraduate students ready to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals in St. Louis. Since its inception, WIU's efforts have raised over $920,000 for CMN.
This year's event will also be open to the community from 2-4 p.m., where anyone can attend, regardless of if they registered or not.
"It's a great way for the community to get involved and experience the event," RockyTHON VP of Events and Programming and sophomore broadcasting and journalism major Samantha Haney (Wildwood, MO) said. "We will have a live auction during those hours."
Donations are welcome and may be made by visiting the WIU RockyTHON website at tinyurl.com/wiurockython26, or email dancemarathon@wiu.edu. Attendees can register at the website or in person at the event. Additional details and more events can be found on the WIU RockyTHON Facebook page.
