Illinois Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes Executive Director to Speak at WIU

MACOMB, IL - - The Executive Director of the Illinois Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes, Elana Kahn, will visit Western Illinois University and Macomb Wednesday-Friday March 11-13.

She will hold a presentation from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 in the Multicultural Center (MCC) Multi-purpose Room and another at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Macomb City Hall Community Room.

During her visit, Elana Kahn will discuss the commission's role and the resources it offers. She will also hold a conversation with the WIU community to discuss ways to strengthen the campus community and build resilience.

The Illinois Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes works to identify and uproot sources of discrimination and bias at the source, while assisting in the development of resources, training, and information that allow for a swift and efficient response to hate-motivated crimes and incidents.

This event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members.
