WWII Living History Experience in Macomb

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Veteran Resource Center and the Department of History are partnering with the Macomb Park District to host a living World War II history experience in the Macomb community.

The event will take place from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, October 9-10, with the final day concluding at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 11. The interactive experience will provide residents of Macomb and the Western Illinois region with an educational opportunity to engage with World War II history. The event aims to help participants better understand the impact and significance of the war.

Organizers aim to raise awareness about World War II history while providing a meaningful educational experience for students, families and community members.

Fundraising support for the event is being provided by the Western Illinois University Foundation, which is helping raise funds to make the historical event possible. Donations will directly fund interactive exhibits, educational materials, and community outreach efforts, ensuring a meaningful experience for all attendees.
