Just Hired: Paul Jemimah Dadala

MACOMB, IL - - Meet Paul Jemimah Dadala, a graduate of Western Illinois University's Public Health program, who was hired at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.
Dadala will serve as a Health Care Concierge/Health Advocate, assisting members with navigating healthcare services, addressing concerns and providing support to ensure individuals can make informed health decisions.
Her path to the position began with an application submitted through LinkedIn. After applying, Dadala participated in an initial phone screening with a recruiter, where she discussed her background, education and interest in the role. She was then invited to a second-round interview focused on role-specific responsibilities, including communication skills and real-life healthcare scenarios. Following the interview process, she was selected for the position.
During her time at WIU, Dadala said her coursework and graduate assistantship played a key role in preparing her for her career.
"My studies in public health helped me build a strong foundation in health education and communication, which are important for helping individuals understand healthcare information and make informed decisions," Dadala said. "In addition, my graduate assistantship helped me develop strong administrative and organizational skills, such as coordinating tasks, managing responsibilities and working in a professional environment."
Dadala added that these experiences prepared her to communicate health information effectively, assist individuals in navigating healthcare services, and handle administrative responsibilities in her new role.
She plans to stay connected with WIU by maintaining relationships with professors and mentors, as well as participating in alumni activities and professional networking opportunities. Dadala hopes to continue learning, building connections and supporting future students.
