Wind Ensemble Grad Conducting Chris Jenkins April 11

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds Concert and Graduate Conducting Recital at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 11 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The Wind Ensemble and Chamber Winds, joined by members of the WIU Symphony Orchestra, will be under the direction of Chris Jenkins, second-year Instrumental Conducting graduate student. The ensemble will perform works by Gustav Holst, Igor Stravinsky, John Zdechlik, and Proclamation for Brass Choir by WIU Professor Emeritus and Composer Randall E. Faust. Also featured on the program will be Po-Chuan Chiang, WIU Accompanying coordinator and collaborative pianist, performing the second movement of Frédéric Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Minor.

II. Tema con Variazioni
III. Finale

Proclamation for Brass Choir - Randall E. Faust (1947b)

Celebrations - John Zdechlik (1937-2020)
