MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University student organizations have reached a milestone in their partnership with Royal Neighbors of America, establishing 10 Royal Neighbors volunteer chapters connected to student groups on campus.

The creation of the tenth chapter, Chi Omega Sorority (Chapter 20379), triggered an $8,000 donation to WIU to help support the chapter program on campus.

Royal Neighbors, one of the fastest growing fraternal life insurance organizations with a 130-year history of serving communities through volunteerism, encourages individuals to establish Royal Neighbors chapters connected to their WIU student organizations. Once established, the student organizations receive sponsorship funding from Royal Neighbors. Through this program, WIU student clubs have received thousands of dollars in support.

The following WIU student organizations currently have Royal Neighbors chapters:
RockyTHON

WAVE (Western's All Volunteer Effort)

Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Inc.

Panhellenic Council (PHC)

Environmental Science Club

GEMS (Graduate Experience in Museum Studies)

Royal Neighbors collaborates with WIU staff and students to facilitate the program.

WIU is the third university to participate in this partnership with Royal Neighbors, joining Augustana College and St. Ambrose University.
